Multi-Engine

Multi-Engine flight training offers a new dimension in your aviation career. Nice Air's Multi-Engine program is designed to take you from either a Commercial Single-Engine or Private Pilot Single-Engine to proficiency in a light twin in a short amount of time. The program is complete and offers the student confidence in flying a complex aircraft.

Module 1 - Basic Maneuvers

In this module, you'll learn the basics in flying a Multi-Engine aircraft. The instruction for the Multi-Engine program is in a BeechCraft Travel Air or Piper Seneca I. The duration of this course is approximately 10 hours. The duration for a Private Pilot Multi-Engine is approximately 15 hours. You'll be performing the following maneuvers:

  • Steep Turns
  • Stalls
  • Minimum Controllable Airspeed or MCA
  • Vmc Demonstration
  • Drag Demonstration
  • Single Engine Operations with "Feather and Secure"
  • Emergency Operations
  • Normal and short Field Takeoffs and Landings
You'll also receive approximately 10 hours of ground instruction covering the following topics:
  • Multi-Engine Aerodynamics
  • Factors of a Critical Engine
  • Factors of Vmc
  • Performance Consideration
  • Single-Engine Operations
  • Multi-Engine Aircraft Systems
  • Propeller

Module 2 - Instrument Privileges

This is a continuation of Module 1. This module take approximate 5 additional hours of instruction to complete. If you want instrument privileges with your Multi-Engine Rating, the following additional topics will be covered:

  • ILS and VOR Approaches; Normal and Single-Engine
  • Circle to Land Approaches

Module 3 - Commercial Instrument

This module is a continuation of modules 1 and 2. In this module, you'll be performing all the same maneuvers covered in your Single-Engine Commercial License. An addition of approximately 5 hour of flight instruction will be given on the following topic:

  • Emergency Descents
  • Short and Soft Field Takeoffs and Landings
  • Emergency Operations
  • Stalls
  • Steep Turns

Along with approximately 10 hours of ground instruction in the following areas:

  • Performance Limitations
  • High Altitude Operations
  • Minimum Equipment List
  • FAR Part 135.1
  • Airspace
  • Stall Spin Awareness
  • Cross Country Flight Planning
  • High Performance Systems
